Despite its name, the museum's collection is by no means composed solely of Russian photography — it also includes works from around the world.
The ROSPHOTO collection contains materials that touch upon the global history of photography's development. If you find yourself in the city center and decide to visit this museum, you will be able to view a series of photographs of Italian cities taken in the 1870s–1900s, a collection of early British photography, or even works by American masters of photography from the 1880s–1900s.
If you happen to plan your visit to ROSPHOTO a little in advance, we recommend checking their official website for upcoming exhibitions, as the museum is also actively involved in exhibition work — and you might just get lucky and have your visit coincide with one of those days. On average, they hold about twenty exhibitions a year.
